Following are the two usually reasons PayPal occasionally does not process a transaction.
- You entered the wrong Name or Statement Address - By far, this is the biggest reason transactions fail to process. If the name or address you give PayPal does not exactly match up with your credit or debit card’s name or statement address, the transaction will be rejected. (This also sometimes happens with business or institutional cards. The holder does not necessarily know where the statements get sent.)
That statement address may not necessarily the shipping address you wish to use.
Keep in mind that PayPal does this is for your protection. You may have moved; you may not be entering it exactly right; whatever. But they figure you should know your own statement address if you are the legitimate card holder. Remember that a rejected transaction is a lot less hassle than trying to clear up your card being used fraudently.
- You have a forgotten PayPal Account - You at one time had a PayPal account associated with your email address, and you may not remember it. If when you are checking out you do not see “Don’t have a PayPal account?” at the bottom, then there is an account associated with your email address. Either that, or someone is using your email address on a PayPal account without your knowledge, which is not good for you.
Before contacting us about a transaction not processing, please double check your statement address, make sure you are not going over your credit limit, and try the transaction again.
Although we are not completely happy with PayPal (an understatement), these are the reason we use them:
- PayPal protects you. Owned by auction giant eBay, PayPal keeps your credit card or checking account information safe and confidential.
- Encrypted connections. All purchase
transactions are handled through a secure,
encrypted SSL connection, protecting you
from online eavesdropping.
- It gives you choices. You can pay with either a credit card, debit card, or directly from your checking account, whichever you would prefer.
- It’s convenient. Once your account is established, you don’t have to re-enter your information each time you make a new web purchase. Or, you
can pay even if you choose not to have a PayPal account.
- PayPal protects Iron Woody. It
is not necessary for Iron Woody to receive
your personal financial information to
complete your purchases. Since your
information is never divulged to us, you’re
protected completely. It also eliminates
any risk of Iron Woody sharing your info
with his gym buddies, and you having to
explain to your wife that case of tequila
you don't remember charging.
